My name is Kimberly Casara. I am a professional horsemanship instructor and horse trainer. I've been in Taos, New Mexico working with riders and horses since 2004. I teach beginner and intermediate horsemanship and train horses from start to finish. I run a small, clean, private boarding facility with a few nice folks that enjoy trail riding in the lovely back country here in Northern New Mexico.
Lovely, clean facility.
Board your horse here and for a very competitive monthly rate you will have the use of a large 50'-60' paddock with a run in shed, clean and heated water, rubber bottom feed bunks with twice daily hay feeding and daily manure maintenance. You will have use of riding arena, 60' round pen and trailer parking.

I offer Individual riding lessons for the total beginner or the more advanced rider. You can ride one of my good horses or bring your own horse. My focus is on teaching safety and calm, quite, confidence to all riders, in addition to good horsemanship skills for the arena and the trail.

start to finish
I can start your colt/filly, finish your started horse or help with problem horses. I work with all breeds and specialize in gaited breeds. I will work on gentling your horse into a calm, quite, responsive equine. Additionally I can teach you how to keep him or her behaving in a positive manner.
What my clients have to say...
Over an eleven year period I boarded my horse and mini-donkey at Kimberly’s facility when I traveled or just needed a break from horse-keeping at home. My boys were always happy to go there and in great shape when I picked them up. Kimberly is exceptionally knowledgeable about horse health and almost obsessively conscientious about safety and daily care. I never worried about my boys when they were with her.
As a bonus, she offered guided trail rides for her boarders either on trails adjacent to her house or via her trailer up to the mountains. Best of all, she was an incredible teacher for my horse-crazy granddaughter, teaching the importance of emotional equilibrium, self-determination and responsibility along with equitation and horse care.
I boarded my elderly gelding with Kimberly Casara for many years and couldn't have been happier with his care. Kimberly is knowledgeable and reliable. The years he spent under her watch were some of his healthiest and happiest! I travel for work and always felt safe with my guy at her ranch. Her facility is kept clean and very conveniently located near town. My favorite part was the barn community! It is a very relaxed and drama free place. Had I not moved from NM I would have never left her stable. I cannot recommend this facility enough!!!
My experience boarding with Kimberly Casara was very pleasant. My horse and I appreciated the calm atmosphere. I looked forward to going out to her place every day. She took excellent care of my horse and was helpful if I had any questions. We rode together, on the trail, often and I always felt happy and safe during our rides.
Kimberly Casara has been a God send in my horse experience. She helped us to purchase two superb horses and provided excellent training for them. She also gave both me and my husband riding lessons that helped us stay safe on the trail. Kimberly took us on gorgeous trail rides close to town and also provided excellent lunches for us on the trail. I could not recommend anyone more than I recommend Kimberly, not only for her horse knowledge and training ability, but also trail guiding and gourmet catering.
Meeting Kimberly Casara has been one of my most treasured experiences since coming to Taos. From the moment I drove onto her place I felt welcomed by both Kimberly and her animals.
Coming from Chicago, I desperately wanted to learn to ride better. Kimberly took me in hand and made a plan to make me a true horsewoman, capable of riding almost any horse in any conditions. Her methods are so fun and informative that I plan to lease one of her horses for the summer. Anyone would be lucky to learn to ride from Kimberly Casara, she's more than a teacher, she's a mentor in all manner of cowgirl skills!
My husband, Dave and I boarded our two horses at Kimberly's barn for about 5 years before we left Taos. We had boarded at two other facilities prior to meeting Kimberly but her care was unparalleled. Not only is her stable on scenic and easy trails but her paddocks are large enough for our two horses to comfortably share one. Her Prices were very reasonable considering the excellent quality of her hay and her care and integrity. Kimberly's tips on horse care and training were sincerely appreciated. More important was her willingness to feed additional supplements or blanket when weather required, without additional fees, if we provided the needed items. If you want to learn more about horses or a new friend to ride with in Taos, you simply must latch onto Kimberly, we're sure you'll be pleased.
